2. Problem to Solve:
  • No Logo

  • No branding (to do any type of marketing)

3. Solution:
Create a logo (incorporating his own idea)

He has an another business called Bayside Equipment & Repair, and we made his business card in the past. We didn't really make a "logo" for this business, but we spent time picking the typeface (I suppose this is considered a logo).

B for Bayside, I for Installation, and G for Generator, of course. Technically, the business' first letters would be B, G, I, but he wanted to convey the message of "BIG".

Let me explain the process (at that time) a little more: I have narrowed down to the two, and sent him for his input (thoughts). I personally might have liked the left one (called Stalinist One), but he picked the left (Black Ops One, regular), and we went with that. It is classified as "stencil" font, and I thought these straight lines (absence of curves) would fit well with the nature of the business.

Now, he brought his ideas for the logo this time. We agreed to use the same typeface as Bayside Equipment Repair for consistency, but for the logo, he explained the image of a cube and each face has letters "B", "I", and "G". BIG!

Other Branding/Marketing Products

After we finalized the logo, I designed the business card and car decal. Later, he made work shirts with the logo, too.

By implementing these solutions, Bayside Generator & Installation Inc. was able to establish its brand, also keeping consistency with his other business.

He is very easy-going and has such friendly smile. It was a pleasure working with him!

Now, his original idea was a cube, but I wondered... how can I make this more relevant to his business/ symbolize his business essence... I played around a little, sketched, and thought of an idea to make it into a Generator! So, finished logo is the below:
